The Simulation Framework

OverSim is an open-source overlay network simulation framework for the ​OMNeT++/OMNEST simulation environment. The simulator contains several models for structured (e.g. Chord) and unstructured (e.g. GIA) peer-to-peer protocols.

OverSim is developed at the ​Institute of Telematics, Universität Karlsruhe (TH) within the scope of the ​ScaleNet project funded by the ​German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The simulator is actively developed and open to contributions. If you have any questions regarding OverSim, please send an email to the MailingList.

May 7, 2007

• We will present OverSim on the Global Internet Symposium 2007 on May 11, 2007. The paper is available for download on the ​GI website.

April 4, 2007

• Released OverSim-20070404 and INET-20061020-2-OverSim.
  • Added support to connect OverSim to real networks via TunOut.
  • Several bugfixes and enhancements (take a look a doc/ChangeLog)

March 12, 2007

• Visit us at ​CeBIT 2007 in hall 9, stand A40 for a live demonstration of OverSim!

December 15, 2007

• First public release of OverSim.
